Turn Around (I just don’t get it!)

I decided to pick up my wrap around cardigan again from the Debbie Bliss “Easy Knits” book. Remember, this is what my “goal” was for the Knitting Olympics…and this is exactly where I stopped because I’m still confused by the instructions for the collar.

Here is what it says to do:

Frontband and Collar:
Join shoulder [...]

Today’s Post Sponsored by the Letter A

So I bought this letter A from Michaels a while ago. I can’t remember if it was for my mom’s birthday or for Mother’s Day…either way, I never altered it. So I brought it out and have decided to add a bit of paint and some embellishments. Maybe add a bit of paper decoupaging on [...]

Round and Round

I know I should be showing you pictures of the Caftan. Or maybe an update on the Collared Shawl Sweater that I have yet to add a neck to. I only made this project my goal as my Knitting Olympics project, but I failed. So it’s bundled in a grocery bag somewhere in the linen [...]

Hospitals Suck and Pinwheel Sweaters

My day didn’t start out too well. The afternoon only got worse, I’m sorry to say. My bf and I sat in the emergency room from 12:50-5:15 this afternoon. I started to have some heavy cramping and it freaked me out. So we went to the hospital. Turns out I have a bladder infection. It [...]

I am going straight

Straight needles that is. I had been knitting this Caftan on US 8, 29 inch circulars. (I didn’t have smaller ones and I was using the straight needles for my previous project.) Anyway, that 29″ is long. Too long. Especially when working on 40 stitches at a time to seperate the shoulders. So I’ve finished [...]

Cookies!

Don’t they look scrumptiliumtious? Well they are. And the chocolate chip ones I made lastnight were just as good. But I love peanut butter, so these are my top choice. And I have finally figured out why my previous attempts at chocolate chip cookies have failed. It’s the type of vegetable oils you use. Normally [...]

I want to be a better blogger

I really do. I try so hard, but I find that pictureless posts are pretty boring. Who wants to read a bunch of writing? Pictures help us visualize, am I right? So with that said, I tend to post only when I have pictures. It’s not that my life is boring (or is it?) or [...]

Lastnight was a night of a finishing! Here’s the first project I finished, (which literally only needed maybe 4 rows, which in turn tells you what a procrastinator I can be at times). It’s an Irish Hiking Scarf. I used 2 skeins of Paton’s Wool Classic in an off white. Very purty ain’t she?

Second on [...]

Sending Out an S.O.S

So the sacque wasn’t too bad…but I’m stuck. You should be proud really, I knit further than I expected. The body is done, the bodice back is done and the bodice front is done. It’s just the rest. The next part I understand, somewhat. Here’s the gist of what needs to be done for [...]

Sew? I don’t sew!
